Cyber Society of India (CySI) conducted National workshop on the topic “Freezing of Bank Accounts in Cybercrimes” on 3rd Feb 2024 at Anna Centenary Library, Chennai.
Workshop focus: Balancing Cybercrime prevention with Access to Funds, Explore inclusive solution to freeze cyber-crime associated bank accounts without hindering law abiding citizens’ access to their funds.
As a President of CySI, delivered Welcome address and setting the context on Digital payment landscape, evolution of UPIs, Stats around financial frauds reported and emphasising on objective of session is to delibrate and get perspective from variuos speakers to obtain India and Global perspective and provide recommendations on how to have inclusive solution when it comes to freezing of accounts.

Mr.Vashant, DSP, Cybercrime Wing, TamilNadu Police explained about 1930 helpline support desk and steps followed to freeze Bank accounts
Mr.Vasudevan, Advocate spoke on Victim Angle sharing process followed to report in this case.
This workshop was attended by 225+ Partipants (125 Physical and 100 virtual zoom session) includes Police offciers, Advocates, Cybersecurity professionals and Students.
