Cyber Society of India (CySI) recently organized a workshop on the “Prevention of Financial Cyber Crimes” on 29th September. The event was a significant success, with 150+ participants in attendance. Experts from Reserve Bank of India (RBI), TamilNādu Police – Cybercrime Police officials, and cyber netizens came together to discuss strategies for preventing financial cyber crimes.

As President of CySI, I addressed the audience, highlighting current trends in financial cyber crimes in India with data from the FCRF survey. I shed light on the top financial cyber crimes reported and the rising trend of Cyber slaves, urging vigilance among students and emphasizing security guidelines.

The workshop featured insightful presentations by the chief guest, engaging panel discussions by cybercrime Police officers and Bankers, who discussed the risks of traditional and digital banking. They also shared various measures taken to raise awareness, including RBI circulars, awareness initiatives, and procedures for reporting cyber crimes promptly, stressing the importance of using the cybercrime helpline 1930.

CySI remains committed to fostering a platform that brings together cyber experts, advocates, bankers, cybercrime police department officers, and cybersecurity professionals to address trends and combat cybercrime effectively. Check out some snapshots from the workshop attached for reference.
