Cyber Society of India (CySI) hosted a workshop in Chennai on 13.07.2024 to discuss new evidence laws for electronic records under the Bharatiya Sakkshya Adhiniyam, 2023. The event targeted legal professionals, Law enfprcement personnels, Cyber Security professionals, Law students, and the general public. Notable speakers included former High Court judges Dr. Justice S. Vimala and Justice Mr. P. N. Prakash, Senior Advoctes Dr. A. Thiyagajan, Ms. N.S. Nappinai, Mr. Ajay Singh, Cyber experts Mr. Na Vijayashankar,Mr. Ramesh Venkataraman,Mr. Krishna Sastry Pendadyla, Mr. Vijayakumar KM.President and Mr. Balu Swaminathan ,Secretary of CySI and others. 150+ participants attended this workshop. it was well received by participants.

The workshop emphasized the need to simplify procedures for admitting electronic records, addressing challenges such as hash value discrepancies and certification costs because of engaging an Expert. The evolving legal frameworks for electronic evidence were discussed, stressing the importance of developing practical and simplified procedures for their admission.
